Our Mission

ETHOS Film Institute, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is dedicated to advancing purpose-driven storytelling as a tool for education, healing, and cultural change. We believe that stories can build empathy, dismantle division, and spark solutions to the most urgent challenges of our time.

From Santa Monica to schools and communities worldwide, ETHOS unites filmmakers, youth, educators, survivors, activists, and audiences from over 180 countries. We work across generations and abilities — empowering voices that are often overlooked: young people, women, the neurodiverse, people with disabilities, environmentalists, animal advocates, domestic violence survivors, foster youth, the unhoused, and those navigating mental health and recovery journeys.

Through our signature festivals — the ETHOS Film Awards, ETHOS Kids Festival, ETHOS Wonderlab school showcases, and the World Culture Film Festival — we provide inclusive platforms where stories are not only told, but activated: turned into awareness tools, classroom resources, and campaigns that mobilize communities.

For sponsors and partners, supporting ETHOS means investing in measurable impact:

  • Expanding access to education and creative opportunities for youth.

  • Building platforms for dialogue and healing in communities.

  • Amplifying underrepresented voices on a global stage.

  • Reaching a diverse, international audience with your brand aligned to purpose.

Together, we are creating a global movement of storytelling for a better tomorrow.
